Sarah Hemsley qualified as a solicitor in 2001. After starting her career in London at Reed Smith LLP as part of the Employment team, Sarah made the move to working in business and has spent the last 17 years working in-house in retail and hospitality. Sarah is General Counsel at Selfridges, where her role covers legal, data protection, director and company secretary responsibilities, risk management and advisory, ethical trade and sustainability. Sarah is actively involved in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at Selfridges and more widely; formerly a trustee of Women in Retail and proud to say she has taken the General Counsel Oath.
